Renaming a Folder

As you add documents and other items to Google Drive, you'll find that you end up creating a lot of folders just so you can organize all the information you collect. It is inevitable, then, that at some point you'll need to rename a folder. Fortunately, this is pretty easy to do:

  1. Log into Google Drive (drive.google.com).
  2. Locate the folder you want to rename. (Your folders should be listed in the main Drive screen, but you might need to open other folders if the folder you want to rename is within one of them.)
  3. Select the checkbox to the left of the folder name.
  4. Click the More button. (Make sure you click the one at the top of the screen, not the More link at the left of the screen.) Drive presents a number of options you can choose.
  5. Click Rename. Drive presents a dialog box where you can enter a new name for the folder. (See Figure 1.)

  7. Replace the current name with the name you want to use.
  8. Click OK.
