Jelto is using Google Drive on his iPad tablet and he is having trouble figuring out how to rename an existing file or folder.
Fortunately, renaming files and folders is done in much the same way that you do on other devices, such as your desktop. There are a few small differences, however, when can throw a wrench into the works.
Assuming you have already installed the Google Drive app on your iPad, follow these steps:
- Start the Google Drive app and make sure you are logged into your Google Drive account.
- Locate the file or folder you want to rename.
- Click the information icon at the lower-right corner of the file or folder you want to rename. Drive displays details about the file or folder. (See Figure 1.) (Make sure you click on the information icon, not the file or folder itself. The information icon looks like a lowercase i within a circle.)

- Click the Rename option; it has an icon in the middle of the details information. Drive displays a Rename Item box. (See Figure 2.)

- Replace the current name with the name you want to use.
- Click Rename.
Drive immediately changes the name of the file or folder you selected in steps 2 and 3.
